"LIBERTY ELM TREE STANDS FOR FREEDOM
A nice breeze whipped the American flag into full sight as several community members gathered Sunday morning, August 14 to dedicate the Liberty elm tree in Holyoke City Park.   'This tree stands for freedom,” said CSU Extension horticulturist Linda Langelo prior to the dedication.

Mayor Orville Tonsing conducted the dedication ceremony to the tune of a soft patriotic-sounding drum beat by HHS drummer Alyssa Cordova. August 14 is a historic part of this country’s liberty from the British, Tonsing told those gathered."
